Postcards from New York
Getting my photography fix & found some interesting work from Cary Conover. I highly suggest listening to Wu-Tang's 36 Chambers while looking through Cary's portfolio at caryconover.com.

cute but sad picture :(
woke up later than usual, around 11 o'clock and biked over to studio. Continued making my mass model for 252 and got hungry, but did not want to head over to campus market due to the rain, eventually hunger took over and my creativity kicked in. I made a poncho out of a huge plastic bag and got some Hawaiian pizza and ate it while listening to a few kids present their adaptive resuse/ addition projects for about 2 long hours. Went back to the apartment, watched Erin shotgun her first beer. Headed out for some California Burritos with Ryan, Ryan, Rex. Came back and headed to studio and worked on some drafting, listened to music and just talked with Tam. Karen came by and visited for a bit. They both left, and I worked a little longer. Came back to the apartment and made some Lolo Boy's Corned Beef with Ryan and Ryan. Probably going to get some ArchE done and hopefully wake up early so I can head to the bike shop on Madonna tomorrow morning.

Birthday Dinner
Rex's Birthday at Momma's Meatballs! ... too bad the meatballs were actually the worst thing there. I had some canaloni which was so-so. Tien had baked pene. Rex had some chicken chicken, and Benedicto... oh my.. he got the seafood pizza with clams. wow. Overall a good fun night.
ahhaha the waiter didnt believe tien that it was rex's bday. but they brought out some nice chocolate covered creame puffs out for him anyway. jazzy was hitting on the waiter all night. thats probably why they brought it out.
and lastly a picture to sum up the entire night.. fuckin tien..

Let the Good Times Roll
All in all, weekend was an awesome one. A big thank you goes out to everyone who came. Glad my parents were cool with everything going on. It was a fun and crazy night. Everyone seemed to just be all smiles.
I think it's true when they say pictures are worth a thousand words. and there's no need for me to write thousands upon thousands of words.

Our studio has new orange chairs that are suppose to last for the next 20 years. They aren't that comfy, but they sure do look nice.
Ive never owned a plant before, and I guess having this Pachira on my desk is suppose to make my studio space more lively.Neemrana Fort-Palace. Seems like such a wonderful place. I've been studying it for a project is my studio class. It's adaptive reuse from a 15th century fort that housed the royal family, to a 21st century hotel/resort in India is aweing and inspiring.
Been in studio a lot with these two. Tam's been helping me out a lot with rhino. and Karla's been building a cardboard monster that is engulfing her desk.
Im pretty excited for our next project. It has something to do with and addition to a historic building. This one in particular is the San Luis Obispo Musuem, which is itself an adaptive reuse project.
It was also curry night in our household. Ryan made some kind of thai curry and I made a Japanese curry. Good stuff.

The Inner Workings of the Brain
Finished up part 2 of my totem project for landscape architecture.
In progress - formation of the head.
Final result
Closer Look
Explanation: I created a representation of my thoughts. Inside the head are two sides, the left and right side of the brain. I showed a heavier emphasis on the right side of the brain, the creative side. Within it is an art gallery, where you can get lost. It represents how I get lost in creative thought all the time. The second level is empty, leaving room for more thoughts. On the other side, is the logical side, where everything is just floating around. It represents how I am not concerned about the logical stuff and it just goes around in my head.
Overall, it received a good response. It know it's not well crafted or anything, but for me it's all about the concept. Hope you enjoyed.
The objective was to create a spatial design that also represented a part of my personality. I got an idea and got some supplies.
Wireform, Floral Foam Block, Basswood

Today made me realize I'm so out of shape, and how hilly San Luis Obispo really is. Class wasn't until 6pm, so I went downtown with Tien to get some supplies for my project for studio. Update on that tomorrow. I never really liked Baja Fresh until today. It completely owned me for the the bike ride back to school. I was dying biking up the hill. Never in my life was I ever happy for a downhill. Got tired from that, which made me sleep most of the time in my Landscape History class. After that, went back to studio and worked for a while. Got some Fatte's Pizza. Good shit. I hate staying in studio really late, but it's good at the same time. You're in the same boat as everyone and it makes it easier to just be chill and converse. Other than that, busy day tomorrow. Wake up in 5 hours.
P.S.
Rare footage of Nujabes live. Some dope instrumental solo going on.
Makes me wish I played a instrument when I was younger.

As Rex was searching the aisles of the craft store for metal mesh and molding clay, i spelled my name out of wood cut outs and arranged them on a wooden stool.
It came to me as a surprise that a lamp like this would cost 29.95. I guess it goes to show how people are getting desperate and uncreative when it comes to furnishing their homes. Anyone can make this with just some metal wire and glue...
biked downtown today, it isn't much, but it beats being at lecture taking notes about sections and what not.
Had lunch at Baja Fresh. Note to self: nacho burrito is LEGIT.
I was missing the studio environment during winterbreak, but I realized I was only missing my studio, because last quarter, studio was something that was stimulating my mind, and furthering me in my creative endeavor. I haven't done anything but glue cardboard together and try to define space this quarter. what a bummer.
If Rex were in Gladiator.
